Avon Reviews Galore!

Hey everyone! I want to apologize for my absence- I've had rugby, school, my family, friends [and boyfriend] to think about and spend time with! But don't worry because I am back and boy do I have some reviews for you!

I have so many great products to write about, and they are all from Avon! You know I don't really like a long introduction, so let's cut to the chase.

ANEW Clarifying Hand Cream
This hand cream is meant to make dark spots on your hands fade away with daily use of it. Though I am only 16 years old and do not have dark spots anywhere, I think it's safe to say that this is my favourite moisturizer! It hydrates your skin and has a barely-there fragrance to it. It leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth, and young! You can purchase this hand cream from Avon for only $14.99!

From the Mark Collection...
Marrakesh Instant Vacation Eau de Toitlette Spray
Oh my gosh you guys, this is a must-have for the summer! It is the warmest, most amazing thing I have ever smelled before. It is "an exotic blend of lavish Moroccan jasmine, neroli blossoms, spicy cardamom, wild fig and crushed mint". Tell me that doesn't sound amazing?! What I love about this perfume is that it doesn't have an over powering smell to it. When I smell it, I immediately think about summer time and the warmth of the sun....sigh, how I miss summer...Anywhooo, you can purchase this for the affordable price of $26! Also, check out their other stuff from their new Marrakesh theme! (Some stuff is down below)
Nailed It (trend mini nail lacquers)
First of all, I'd like to apologize because I do not have any swatches of the nail polishes that are featured in this post. I really need to catch up on my reviews so I don't have time to paint my nails, let them dry, take pictures, and upload them. Anyways, these are probably the most metallic nail polishes that I own at the moment! The Saffron (right) is beaaaaautiful and I recently wore it with pink nail polish for my semi-formal! These polishes don't chip very easily so they are guarenteed to last a while! These two polishes come together as a set for only $8!
Exotic Beauty (face mosaics)
I have never been one to wear powders, blushes, or bronzers. I think it has to do with the fact that I usually put waaaaay too much on and I either look like a peach or an orange. But receiving this powder made me excited to start practicing my skills with it! My thoughts on this powder is that it is very shimmery, but not in a bad way. It doesn't make you look like Edward Cullen when you're in the light, but it does add a subtle sparkle. It also lasts all day, which is a plus! This face mosaic is $16. Down below is a swatch:
 Exotic Hues (eye shadow trio)
These are probably the most pigmented eyeshadows that I have found from Avon so far! I am head-over-heels in love with these colours! They were "inspired by the vibrant spices found in the city's souks". These shadows are also baked for long-lasting wear! I highly recommend you guys check them out, and purchase them for the price of $12! Enjoy a swatch down below:
 Glossworks Lip Gloss
Guys....Guys....These lipsticks are...Too amazing for words...Oh my goodness. They are so flippin' pigmented and glossy that I want to just purchase each colour...Three times. They really remind me of the Lip Glazes from Stila, only more pigmented and less shimmery. I love how the colours make my lips pop all day long! As a bonus, they are summer-perfect because they have an SPF of 15! Down below is a swatch of the colours (left to right) Roseland, Tempest, and Tropica:

Celestial Summer 2013 Colour Collection *available June 2013
Cosmic Nail Enamels
Left to Right: Saturn, Aurora, Galaxy, Starlight, Starburst
Avon was generous enough to send me their new collection for the summer, which is the Celestial Colour Collection. The name gives you a clue that there will be a lot of shimmery cosmetics in this collection! I absolutely love the nail polishes that Avon has because they are long-lasting and are always bold colours! I think my favourite colours are Galaxy (because any shade of blue is gorgeous) and Aurora. These nail polishes will be available for $6 each!
Cosmic Eye Shadows
Right when I saw these I couldn't help but admire the swirls and how gorgeous these shadows are! They are baked and have a long life on your lids....did I mention they were really pretty? Definitely the coolest looking shadows I have! I have found different eye shadows that are more pigmented than these, but these shadows still show up very well! Once the collection comes out I will for sure buy the rest of the colours! The ones that you see in the swatch below (left to right) are Purple Haze, Midnight Sky, Jaded Moon, Cosmic Brown:
Glimmersticks Eye Liners
I have been eyeing the Glimmersticks in the Avon catalogue for a while now and I was so happy when they sent me these! I've purchased some of their older glimmersticks in the past, and they are some of the creamiest eye liners I've come across! I will admit, sometimes they do break easily, but not enough to make me not want to buy them again. These pigmented eye liners are a must-have, and are great at completing night-time looks! Each Glimmerstick will be available for $7. The colours you see down below (top to bottom) are Starlight Blue, Blackened Night, Galactic Green, and Purple Haze:

Wow that was long........

I'll be back with more Avon reviews next week! (and other posts, of course)

Avon Reviews #2

A couple days after my first package from Avon arrived, I received my SECOND one. This time there were more products to review.....

Flor Violeta...a sweet surprise of vibrant violet blossoms, sparkling apple and dreamy musk

I cannot express my love of things that smell amazing. I will not leave the house without at least one sprit of some sort of perfume and/or wearing a scented handcream. I personally think it makes a great impression on people when you enter a room smelling all sweet and delicious, and I believe that wearing these Flor Violeta products will leave people following you every where you go just to get a whiff of you! The perfume ($30) is long-lasting and addictive- so watch out! The handcream ($12) leaves your hands feeling smooth and soft and do not make a greasy mess! Finally, the shower gel ($12) is great for washing yourself in because, just like the handcream, it helps moisturize your skin and leaves it feeling like a baby's bum! Overall, these products satisfied me 100% and I highly recommend you guys go and buy this next month when the collection is available!
Tip: Right after drying yourself off from using your shower gel in the tub, apply the body lotion for maximum moisturization!

Avon's new cologne for men, Untouchable
Top notes kick off with a rush of water, wet greens and sizzling black pepper, followed by refreshing grapefruit. The scent unfolds with notes of lavender and violet leaves adding a clean masculine signature. The finish is earthy moss, Haitian Vetiver and worn leather.

First off, the bottle looks pretty spiffy, right? It definitely has an edgy vibe to its appearance, and that description is pretty...well, descriptive, so I assumed that this cologne would have an edgy and different scent to it. And it does, that's for sure. To be completely honest, when I sniffed straight from the nozzle of the bottle, it smelled amazzingggg! I thought "I wouldn't mind if my boyfriend wore this around me!" I then sprayed it to get another sniff, but when I did it seemed to have a different scent. I don't understand how that could have been, but after I sprayed it I realized that it didn't smell as good as I thought it did. There are way worse colognes that I have smelled before, but this one disappointed me a little. But if you're still interested in it, go ahead and buy it! Maybe it will be a different opinion when it comes from a guy's perspective rather than a girl's. This cologne will be available in June for $25!
  Breast Cancer Crusade Tennis Bracelet
Silvertone with pink crystals and pink enamel-look ribbon motif. 18cm L with 3cm extender. 100% of the net proceeds from the Breast Cancer Crusade Tennis Bracelet will be donated to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade.

Ever since my dad's diagnosis of lung cancer back in August, I have really been a sucker for anything that has to do with helping any type of cancer. So when Avon sent me this bracelet and I read about their Breast Cancer Crusade, I was head-over-heels for this bracelet! It is the perfect fit and looks great with anything you wear! Not only is it cute, but it's only $5, and as said above in the description, all net proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Crusade. By purchasing this bracelet, you are helping this wonderful organization and all of those who are affected by this nasty disease. Definitely my favourite product of the bunch! It will be available next month for $5.

Just before I wrap up this post, I just wanted to make a small memoir for my amazing father, whom we unfortunately lost on Sunday.

May 3, 1963- March 10, 2013
You were the greatest father anyone could have asked for. I will never let go of all the memories we made when I was a little girl. I will always be your baby girl, no matter how old I get. You fought such a hard and terrible battle with the cancer, and your stubborness is definitely what kept you going those extra three months. You are my hero and always will be. I love you, daddy ♥

Avon Haul & Reviews!

About two weeks [and one day] ago I received my order from Avon. I had been looking forward to getting my purchases, and let me say I am definitely satisfied! Time to share my haul with you!

Extra Lasting Lipsticks
Avon has a cosmetics line called 'Extra Lasting' and I wanted to try out some of their lipsticks and see if they really do last long. The shades I ordered were Forever Pink and Nude Blush. First of all, these colours are insanely pretty! Although I do prefer matte lipsticks over glossy, these lipsticks are some of the only glossy ones I can put up with all day. Yes, all day. I found that the average amount of time the colours stayed on my lips were about 5-6 hours. And I am a girl who enjoys to talk, drink [water, duhh], and of course eat, so having a good lipstick that will last me a while is a staple!

Ideal Flawless Concealer Stick
I was really excited to test out this product because I am looking for a really great and long lasting concealer. After wearing it for a few days I realized a few pros and cons:
  • Con: It sort of hurts to apply
  • Con: It's hard to blend in
  • Pro: It lasts all day
Unfortunately, this was my least favourite product. While concealers that are too watery are to be avoided, rough concealers just irrate your skin, and that's exactly what I experienced with this. I found that it isn't very creamy and always pulls on my skin. Blending is a very hard thing and takes me a while to do it, but by then most of it has actually been rubbed off. Fortunately, it does last the majority of the day!
(forgot to take a picture of my own... oops)

Colour Eyeshadow Primer
A good eyeshadow primer is something everyone should have! As mentioned in my 'Understanding Makeup Part Three: Face' post, I explained how primer helps keep makeup in place all day and not smudge or crease. Avon's Colour Eyeshadow Primer was one of my favourite purchases because it really does keep my eyeshadow in place all day! And thankfully they just came out with the light beige shade so it can match my skin tone.

True Colour Eyeshadow Duos
Definitely my favourite of all of them. Because there was a 2/$7.99 deal, I ordered two palettes, one in Gold Goddess and one in Vivid Orchid. Down below you can see some swatches of the colours. These shimmery metallic eyeshadows are products that I am now going to be re-purchasing over and over again! I can't get over how great they are and how GLITTERY they are! These shadows make my eyes pop so much, expecially the gold shade from Gold Goddess. I think everyone should order them!

 Ultra Luxury Liners
Finally, I bought some liners because if you have been following me for a while, you'd know how much I love eye liners. I ordered one in Dark Brown and another in Eggplant. These liners are extremely creamy and do not pull on my skin while being applied. They aren't something that stand out to me because of a special quality, but they are eye liners of very good quality and I was definitely satisfied with them.

So there's my haul! You'll for sure be seeing more hauls and product reviews for Avon on here in the future!
